EBRD-EIB-WB Enterprise Survey 2018-2020 dataset covering 38 economies has been published. Data for the remaining three economies will be added as soon as they become available. We also have a new Indicators page, which contains indicators based on BEEPS IV, V and MENA ES. Indicators based on EBRD-EIB-WB Enterprise Survey 2018-2020 will be added in due course.

Several datasets have been updated, correcting minor errors discovered since the last update: BEEPS V, MENA ES, BEEPS V & MENA ES and BEEPS IV-V. Data for BEEPS V Cyprus and Greece are now also available.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the World Bank Group (WBG), have joined forces to obtain a common understanding of the constraints that the private sector in the Middle East and North Africa region faces. A joint report that present this understanding, “What’s holding back the private sector in MENA ? Lessons from the Enterprise Survey”, is now available.

MENA ES survey documentation and firm-level data are now available and BEEPS V (2012-2014) dataset has been updated. A combined BEEPS V – MENA ES dataset and BEEPS IV-V panel dataset are also available.

A report summarising feedback from managers of firms in Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia about what they regard as the main challenges in the business environment that they experience on a daily basis is now available here. The underlying firm-level data are expected to be published by mid-August.

Complete BEEPS V data are expected to be available within the next 2-3 weeks. Data cleaning took longer than expected. Individual country data are already available on the Enterprise Surveys portal, but will be updated within this timeframe, too.
The Joint WBG/EBRD/EIB Enterprise Surveys MENA data are now expected to become available by Q1 2015.
29 November 2013:
EBRD and the World Bank are currently conducting BEEPS V in 29 EBRD countries of operation. Data for majority of them are expected to become available in the first quarter of 2014, with the complete dataset available in mid-2014.
The Joint WBG/EBRD/EIB Enterprise Surveys MENA are also currently in the field in 10 countries in the MENA region. Data for most countries are expected to become available by mid-2014, with the complete dataset available by the end of 2014.
